Registration Sores for Adult Bagpipe & Drum Learning Program in Surrey

Entering its 11th year, our Adult Learning Program for aspiring bagpipers and drummers is experiencing unprecedented momentum! Following a successful 2024/2025 season with 10 dedicated learners, the upcoming 2025/2026 season is already showing double-digit growth for the second year in a row—with 14 adults registered and we still have space for more people wishing to join before we kick off season on September 2nd.

This surge in interest reflects the growing appeal of our group-based learning model, inspired by the Robert Malcolm Memorial (RMM) youth program run by the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.

Our adult learners benefit from a collaborative environment where they progress faster, build confidence, and start playing together from day one—long before picking up a full set of pipes or drums.

Unlike traditional private lessons, our program emphasizes peer learning and ensemble practice right from the start, using practice chanters and drum pads to develop musicality and teamwork. Our program takes the time to develop players ability to read music, learn music theory and understand the rich history of piping and drumming. This approach not only accelerates skill development but also fosters a strong sense of community among adult learners by seeing that others face the same challenges as they develop as players.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, changing instruments or returning to music after a break, our program offers a supportive and structured path to becoming a confident player allowing for growth and exciting opportunities as you develop as a player.
